Osho's Excellent Presentation
We often feel a sense of anxiety inside whatever we do. Have you ever wondered what causes that anxiety?
When we are satisfied with what we do, we do not feel anxious. Also, anxiety starts when we expect approval from others in our actions.
Anxiety occurs even when we think beyond our capabilities. We are reluctant to accept what we are.
We are not satisfied with what we are but long for what we are not.
We are caught in a struggle between these two positions.
No one is at peace in the status quo. We have given the key to our peace to someone else.
Anxiety does not develop automatically. We bring it to ourselves.
It doesn't matter what you aspire to be. You may want to be rich, famous, or powerful.
Or one may desire all these things and wish to be free, to be liberated, to attain divinity, to attain immortality and attain moksha.
Whenever we want to achieve anything, we get nervous.
The more we believe this cannot happen, the more the tension increases.
The distance between reality and what you want is the measure of your anxiety.
That is why those who do not think that anything ordinary should be achieved in the future live peacefully.
If the gap between reality and desire is reduced, you will be closer to satisfaction.
You don't get nervous about anything. Your mind begins to live in the beauty of those moments.
That gap exists in many images, and if the longing is physical, the tension is also physical.
For example, if you want to be more beautiful than you are, the body starts to tense and it spreads to other images.
If you crave psychic authority, anxiety is also at the psychological level.
However, like throwing a stone into water, the vibrations will spread endlessly.
The real source is nostalgia. Once we start accepting ourselves fully, there is no tension.
There is no tension in cosmic existence. But the only wonder is to find a man who accepts him completely.
Tension belongs to the future. Created by imagination. If even your imagination is in the present, your very existence becomes poetry.
Living in the present is beyond tension. Meditation is teaching us to live in the present.
When we meditate, we have the ability to accept what comes and do not have any expectations from ourselves or others.
There is no possibility of anxiety in us because of the disappointment that comes from expectation.
