If you want to follow the Yama Niyamas first, you should put aside the Dhyana Shastra.
The five precepts are Sausa, Santosha, Tapaha, Tana Swathiyaya Isvarap Pranithana
The five Yamas
Truth, Non-violence, Wealth, Apagarika, Brahmacharya.
Happiness means death and birth. If he wants, he will eat, if not, he will fast. Swadhiayam is reading and understanding everything.
If we realize that the divine is the essence of God, then everyone can realize that he is the state of God.
In the Ramayana, Kumbhakarna is in the state of Tamoni, Ravana is in the state of Rajo, Vibhishana is in the state of Satvi,
Hanuman is in the state of Vayu, Putra is in the state of Sita, the sky is in the state of Prana, Rama is the one who realized that he is the soul.
Valmiki and Vyasa have explained the Dhyana Shastra in a story that the layman can understand.
Rama was worshipping only the idol, and he must live as Kumbhakarna in every birth. Dhyana Shastra is different for Mahavira, different for Ramana Maharshi, different for Buddha, different for Guru Nanak.
The bottom of the pyramid is the only place where the broad meets at the top. There is no different state of meditation for Jesus, Rama and Allah.
