Whatever we do, we produce the consequences, which is the primordial law of the universe. But we cannot predict whether we are producing the desired results. But there are also those who perform actions without awareness of the consequences.
According to the law of the universe, there are consequences whether you do it knowingly or unknowingly. It's irreversible. If they are ignorant, the intensity of punishment may decrease slightly in the universe, just as there are some concessions in punishment in our material world [just as there is a reform school punishment without prisons].
But the benefits of karma for those who act knowing the consequences can increase manifold. But why do we want to be rewarded for what we do? Why do we miss the joy of doing things?
We are still looking for a purpose to live even after we have a rare human birth. Is not the purpose of life to live with awareness? We even look for a reason to live. We are always apprehensive about the consequences that we think are coming.
The beauty of life lies in the lessons we learn from doing deeds, right or wrong. Only those who perceive life as a blessing realize the nobility of life. Those who think that life is a burden do not live it to the fullest and miss the opportunity of this rare birth.
Sometimes the results may not be as we would expect. We may not know why. But it would be a loss for us to cultivate hatred in our life due to this happening.
There is a story. A man is sitting on top of a branch. Another is sitting under a tree. The man above easily sees a chariot approaching in the distance. The man below did not see anything. It is not true that if he thought there is no chariot.
Even if the event is true, if our insight is short, we do not understand the truth. This is what happens in our lives and there are troubled minds here who do not know what is coming. If we have a broader view that everything that happens in life is for us, we can get rid of this causal bondage.
When we broaden our vision through the understanding that comes with meditation, it becomes clear that nothing happens by chance not only in our lives but also in the universe. Why great saints say be quiet is understandable, Idleness is not inactivity. Unaffected by the consequences of actions.
