Can parents control children?

Parents of this generation think that the correct approach is to raise children in a controlling attitude. This is a completely wrong trend. We have to learn to control ourselves first. We have no power or need to control anyone. Khalil Gibran says it beautifully in his book The Prophet “Your children are not from you. Those who came through you” you may think that you are the reason why they were born here but it is not true.

They come through you, not from you. They choose you and are born here. First of all we need to understand the meaning of birth. They are matured souls in other higher worlds before they come here to take their next birth. They are not just children. They are perfected souls, but they choose a young body to gain more experiences and learn.

Those who are ignorant of spiritual science cannot be spiritual parents. This is difficult for those who do not understand the basics of spirituality to understand. There is a huge difference between spiritual parents and non-spiritual parents.  That will be definitely reflected in their brooding. They do not understand non-interference, which is the supreme lesson of spirituality. We can show them the way or live the right way of life. It is very good but it is their own right to choose.

The home of parents who do not know or understand spirituality is full of pain, suffering, confusion, interference and  non-understanding. The abode of a spiritual meditator is heaven with joy, bliss and understanding. What we choose is in our hands.
